Barefoot in public

So while I was in Portland we went into the Omnimax theater I guess it is like an IMAX theater. Anyway three females sitting in front of us had their shoes off and had their gross feet up on the chair. I thought it was extremely rude and just gross. Another time while I was at a school I saw a guy sitting in a comfy chair with his shoes off and had them propped on a table. I mean come on! This is one of my pet peeves. There are times when being barefoot in public is okay and most other times it is not okay whatsoever! Here are some pics of places it is not okay to be barefoot.
Remember when Britany Spears did this? Barefoot in a public bathroom? That is definitely a place you should not be bare foot. Do you really know what is on the floor?

A store is another place that is not okay to be barefoot. I understand if  its summer and your going to the lake or whatever but come on wear flip flops at least.

Here are some places that it is okay to be barefoot
At the beach is the perfect time to lose the shoes! I love the feeling of sand!
At the pool is another place to be barefoot.
The park, the yard, the driveway, your home, your friends home, the shower, the lake/river, the podiatrist office are other places it is okay to be barefoot. I really hate seeing peoples bare feet in places where its not necessary.
Have any of you see people without shoes where they should be wearing them?

  3. Nasty, I'll walk around my house barefoot, and if I am swimming, but that's about the extent of it, too many gross things you can step in.

  4. I've never really had to deal with this because I've never seen it but I get your point, the places you listed should only be the allowed places to be barefoot.

  9. I generally make it a point to never be barefoot. I'm a bigger fan of keeping my boots on my feet if I have the choice.

  11. Nah. I don't care about those people going barefoot on public places. But if you are in a formal occasion, this is an obvious no-no!

  25. Wow! People are really ignorant about going barefoot. Sad, really, because going barefoot is NOT gross, NOT unsafe, and NOT inappropriate, like so many of you think. On the contrary, it's comfortable, natural, and healthy. (By the way, to the person who complained about a barefoot guy's feet smelling on a plane trip: that would only be the case if the dude had just worn shoes for several hours. If you're regularly barefoot, you won't have that issue, because by not wearing shoes, you're not creating a cesspool of bacteria to submerse your feet into, and hence, you won't have smelly feet.) The soles of your feet, with repeated direct contact with the ground, will develop a thick keratinized layer that's far better at protecting the feet from foreign objects (including nails and glass) than the flimsy and awkward flip-flops that are so ubiquitious. Furthermore, your soles are no filthier than people's shoes, and easier to watch. Educate yourself about it, and give it a try, before making ignorant blanket proclamations about others.

  26. What's the big deal? Why don't we wear gloves in public cause our hands are way more gross!!! Think about it? What have you touched with your hands today? Hope you washed them! Does everyone you see do the same? ??????????????

  27. how about get over it.?! What other people do in public/private is really none of your business unless they're hurting something or someone. You're not going to have an issue of spreading germs or catching anything because well frankly put the same germs are all over your shoes! And as long as your feet are clean your toenails are trimmed and they're not bleeding all over the place than I don't see a problem with it. Educate yourself before you comment people. Honestly humanoids have went hundreds of thousands of years without shoes! only in the last five thousand years or so that we worn anything on our feet. its actually better for you to walk barefoot because it actually supports your arches And the muscles actually are used and strengthened compared to wearing shoes all the time when your feet muscle atrophy. I do agree though that feet Should never be on a table.
